Canvas Tech Requirements

General

  • Why can’t I see my Canvas course(s)?

    • Recently enrolled?
      • It can take up to 3 hours for enrollment to sync to Canvas and for your course to become visible on your Canvas dashboard.
    • Enrolled more than 3 hours ago?
      • Before the start of the term, Canvas courses can be hidden by the instructor of the course prior to the first day of the term, but will become available shortly after the first day of term.
      • If a course is no longer visible that was accessible to you at the start of term, you may have not completed the necessary requirements to stay in the course and were dropped, or were waitlisted and did not get a seat in the course.
    • After the term?
      • Canvas courses will remain on your Canvas dashboard and on the All Courses menu in a read-only state after the term ends. Some instructors may restrict access to the course after the term ends, and the course will no longer be visible.

    Note: Canvas is not supported on mobile browsers, and some features may not function correctly. It is recommended to use the Canvas App when accessing Canvas on a mobile device

     

Course Evaluations

  • When can I evaluate my classes?

    Evaluations for full-term courses open 14 days before the end of your course. You will have until 11:59PM on the Friday before finals week to submit your evaluations.

    Evaluations for Part-of-term courses open the day after the course ends, and remain open for 14 days.
  • How do I access my course evaluations?

    Evaluations can be accessed through reminder links sent to students' COCC email during the evaluation period, or through Canvas by following the instructions below:

    1. Log in to Canvas
    2. Click Account
    3. Click Course Evaluations

    Alternatively, students can access the evaluation site by clicking the "Course Evaluations" link in the Canvas course menu. This link will appear in the course menu automatically when course evaluations are open.

    During active evaluation periods, a pop-up will open when logging into Canvas, and email reminders with links to the evaluations platform will be sent.
