G-32-17.1.3 Classified and Non-Represented/Regular Placement

As a matter of practice, all vacant classified and non-represented/regular positions are advertised between the minimum and mid-point of the appropriate salary level. The initial salary placement for these employees will be determined by the Director of Human Resources in consultation with the hiring supervisor and based on the relevant education and experience of the successful candidate. The consultation will include consideration of internal equity, the external market for the particular position and available funding. Placement above the mid-point of the salary range requires Presidential approval.
