In Full Bloom: Flower Paintings and Watercolor Sketches

All day, everyday starting 2/27/2019 through 3/27/2019

Barber Library, Rotunda

Artist Statement by Dr. Robert Barber

I have always been connected with the beauty of flowers. With the painting of each bloom I am drawn into the deeper essence and unique character of each flower. I often enlarge the flower to see the unfolding of the flower’s spiritual nature. Spending time with a flower in this manner feeds my soul and is a form of meditation for me like the river is to the fisherman.

Dr. Barber began painting for the first time in 2006 after his retirement as President of COCC. He then attended COCC as a part-time art student for the next 3 years.
