The Afrocentric Program Scholarship application is currently closed. Stay tuned for more information and deadlines during the 2022-23 academic year.

COCC Afrocentric Program Scholarships are awarded based on the following criteria: financial need, demonstrated promise, and dedication exhibited by the student as well as the student's participation in COCC's Afrocentric Programming. Our scholarship recipients receive financial support, and they are also given one-on-one academic and career advising.

Award criteria specify that the recipient will:

  • Be a full-time/part-time in-district student entering or attending Central Oregon Community College.
  • Demonstrate significant academic and personal motivation.
  • Have a minimum 2.0-grade point average.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Have completed at least three credits at COCC or completed coursework in the L.E.A.D, Ubuntu, Afrocentric Club, and ODI Cohort! Programs or a similar college preparation course.
  • Be a participant in the Afrocentric Program.
