Hands-On Learning Opportunities

Hands-on learning is central to COCC's Massage Therapy curriculum. Students gain practical experience through weekly student massage clinics under the guidance of licensed massage therapists. Students repeatedly practice and improve their skills in a real-world setting and receive constructive feedback from real clients.

"The hands-on experience in class as well as the community outreach programs were an invaluable part of my experience at COCC." — Sarah Golden, Massage Therapy graduate

The program also offers unique opportunities for community involvement, including participation in local events such as the Pole, Pedal, Paddle and Heaven Can Wait 5k, providing massages to race participants. During local school districts’ teacher appreciation weeks and local employers’ employee appreciation celebrations, COCC students offer on-site stress-relieving chair massages. Through applied learning and community involvement, the Massage Therapy programs at COCC prepare students to walk confidently into their careers.
