Humanities
Oregon and other universities offer bachelor’s degrees in specific and interdisciplinary fields of the humanities, which include literature and writing, modern and classical languages, philosophy and ethics, theory and criticism of the arts, history, humanistic content and methods of other social sciences, and “study and application of the humanities to the human environment with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life” (National Endowment for the Humanities).
