Central Oregon Community College offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to provide employees and their families, including domestic partners, with a broad range of employer and employee paid benefit options.     Benefits Summary

    Faculty Full-Time, Overtime Exempt, Represented by the Faculty Forum


    Health

    Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance

    COCC offers affordable, comprehensive health care plans for employees and their dependents. A benefitted employee can choose from a variety of medical, dental, and vision plans. The College will contribute up to 90% of the premium for medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage. Employees pay 10% of their health insurance premium. There is no additional premium cost for eligible dependents. Domestic partner coverage is available; imputed tax values apply.

    Health Savings Accounts and Flexible Spending Accounts provide a pre-tax, employee funded account for health-related and dependent care expenses. COCC makes an annual contribution to an eligible employee’s Health Savings Account.


    Life

    Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

    Basic term life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance plans in the amount of $50,000 for each plan are provided to full-time benefitted employees at no cost.

    Optional life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance may be purchased for the employee and eligible dependents up to $500,000.

    Long-term Disability Insurance

    Basic long-term disability (LTD) insurance is offered at no cost to full-time benefitted employees. LTD insurance provides financial help if an employee is unable to work due to an illness or injury.

    Long-term Care Insurance

    Long-term Care Insurance is available for employees to purchase to help cover the costs of care in the future such as assisted living or in-home nursing care.


    Retirement Plans

    After six months of employment, benefitted employees become eligible members of the Oregon Public Service Retirement Plan (PERS). The College pays the employee’s contribution to PERS. After being a member of PERS for at least 5 years, an employee may also become eligible for a lifelong pension for retirement.

    Benefitted employees may contribute to tax-advantaged 403b and 457b retirement savings plans through convenient pre-tax payroll contributions.


    Time Off

    The College observes holidays throughout the year. Members of the Faculty Forum can find information on holidays within a standard 179-day faculty contract year in the faculty bargaining agreement.

    COCC provides sick leave of 80 hours per academic year for a standard 179-day contract. Faculty may also be eligible for paid bereavement and jury duty leaves depending on the contract year.

    Sabbatical Leave/Professional Improvement

    Sabbatical may be granted when such leave contributes to the goals of the College and enhances the professional competence of the individual. Eligibility details are contained in the faculty bargaining agreement.

    COCC provides sick leave prorated by the FTE according to the ABS bargaining agreement. ABS part-time faculty may also be eligible for paid bereavement and jury duty leaves depending on the contract year.
