Why Become a Pharmacy Technician?

Pharmacy technicians, or pharm techs, connect patients with treatments, from drugs that battle cancer to those that handle a common cold. They calculate prescriptions — mixing, measuring, weighing — and help map out medication plans, always centered on patient care and teamwork.

It’s an interactive career that blends technology with people skills — and can serve as an entry to other health care occupations.

"The program’s practicum gives you real-life experience on the job."

Michelle Schleich, COCC Pharmacy Technician graduate

COCC’s nationally accredited Pharmacy Technician program combines a realistic, in-person pharmaceutical lab, extensive learning in the field, and convenient online learning courses.

Our close-knit, cohort-styled training places a strong emphasis on pharmacology and the top 200 drugs, ensuring graduates have the detailed expertise that retail and hospital pharmacies seek.
