"Working with other techs at the hospital, I find that the ones who have gone through the COCC Pharmacy Technican program succeed faster and seem more competent than the ones who are brought in without it. I also feel like you come out of the program with a greater sense of the importance and seriousness of the work of a pharmacy tech." — Michelle Schleich, COCC Pharmacy Technician graduate

The Pharmacy Technician program at COCC prepares students for a range of fulfilling career pathways in health care. Graduates will thrive in: retail pharmacies, assisting pharmacists in dispensing medications and providing vital patient care; hospitals and health care institutions, which rely on pharmacy technicians to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients; and, research laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, or long-term care facilities.

Pharmacy technicians collaborate closely with pharmacists and health care professionals to ensure accurate dispensing, patient counseling, and medication management. By providing essential support, pharm techs contribute to improved patient outcomes and overall wellness. With experience and additional certifications, pharmacy technicians can explore roles such as pharmacy supervisor, medication safety officer, or pharmacy manager, taking on increased responsibility and enjoying further professional growth.

"I always wanted to work in health care. The program at COCC really helps you see what type of pharmacy is best suited for you. It exposes you to knowledge and experience that prepares you for whichever career choice you make." — Cassie Vega, COCC Pharmacy Technician graduate
