U.S. Coast Guard Collaboration

The United States Coast Guard can provide rewarding career paths for COCC's Automotive Technology graduates.

Qualified COCC graduates of specific Automotive Technology programs (Automotive Management AAS; Automotive Technology in Electronics and Diagnostics AAS; and Master Automotive Technician CC2) are entitled to the following, upon successful completion of Coast Guard processes:

  • Qualified sign-on bonus of $30,000
  • Immediately advance to the 5th highest rank [Petty officer second class E-5], out of 9 possible ranks
  • Petty officer second class E-5 currently earns annual pay of $34,466 - $48,917. Additionally, housing benefits are provided on top of salary (based on zip code, in the range of $20,000 - $30,000 per year, depending on location)
  • Shortened recruit training
  • Fantastic health, education, and retirement benefits
