There are many resources available to COCC students that student Veterans are encouraged to access. There are also additional local resources specifically for those who are serving, or have served, in the military.

Veterans Benefits

Veterans have earned certain benefits as a result of their military service. Such benefits are available only to those who apply for them. Based on the county of residency or tribal affiliation, the following branches provide free assistance to Veterans, their dependents, and survivors in obtaining these benefits.

Tribal Veteran Services
Multiple tribal governments in Oregon have established tribal Veteran service offices with tribal Veteran representatives (TVRs) who are trained and certified through ODVA. The linked webpage will provide specific contacts.

*A Deschutes County Veterans Services Officer (VSO) is available at COCC's Veterans Center the first Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Student Veterans are invited to drop by for support in accessing benefits.

COCC's Bend campus has a residence hall for on-campus housing. COCC also provides information to help find off-campus housing.

Central Oregon Veterans Organization (COVO)
Supports Veterans looking for housing assistance, including application, deposit, and rental help, and provides basic necessities to homeless Veterans.
