With a Veterinary Technician Associate of Applied Science degree, students are prepared to launch careers in a wide variety of vet tech fields under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian. Many veterinary technicians work in veterinary clinics providing animal care, including X-rays, surgery, restraint, medication management, and daily office management. Veterinary technicians may also work in research, zoos, veterinary supply sales, animal training, rehabilitation, and many other animal-focused careers. Technicians can also gain higher-level recognition for advanced skills and specialize in 16 different specialties.  

Employment of veterinary technicians is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. As the number of households with pets and spending on pets continues to rise, demand is expected to increase for veterinary technicians.
