Human Services
Human services programs prepare students to work for organizations that serve people
in need. Students learn the theories, principles and practice of providing services.
Human services jobs can include drug abuse counselor, youth worker, mental health
aide or probation officer, and provide services to schools, prisons, government agencies
and nonprofit groups.
The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree with an emphasis in Human Services meets the state of Oregon transfer degree requirements, allowing students to transfer to an Oregon public university and some out-of-state universities having met all lower-division general education requirements. With appropriate course planning, all lower-division major requirements may also be met.
