Why study Communication?
Centered on widely applicable skills and concepts that promote understanding and connection with others, Communication at COCC offers meaningful, empowering lessons through a deep range of study. Coursework explores cultural mindfulness, public speaking, performing and theater, mediation, group dynamics, and effective teamwork. For careers, these essential "soft skills” translate into enhanced employability; for personal lives, they can initiate personal growth and well-being. With inspiring faculty, Communication students develop the abilities to meet and navigate future life challenges while gaining new insights into the world — and people — around them.
"Intercultural Communications was a specific class in Communication at COCC that proved extra-meaningful to me when it comes to the lessons learned and overall class experience." — Taylor Forsberg, intelligence analyst and COCC graduate
