Curriculum Submission Deadlines

All curriculum and catalog revisions need to be submitted in CourseLeaf by the submission deadlines below for implementation in the 2024-2025 academic year and catalog.

Curriculum Submission Deadlines for Implementation in 2024-25 Academic Year and Catalog

Please email the Curriculum Office before beginning work in CourseLeaf as early as possible to discuss your proposal and to review curriculum standards.

December 8, 2023*

Submit curriculum proposals in CourseLeaf for all curriculum changes, including new programs and new courses.

Note: New programs must be approved by Academic Affairs in November 2023 before submitting the new program and courses in CourseLeaf by the December 8, 2023 deadline.

March 15, 2024 All curriculum changes must have final approval (second reading) for the fall class schedule publication and student registration.
March 22, 2024

Submit curriculum proposals in CourseLeaf for minor course and program revisions. Minor revisions have a shortened workflow and go through the curriculum office, admissions and records and chair for approval but do not need curriculum committee approval.

Minor course revisions:

  • Content outline 
  • Course description
  • Grade mode
  • Recommended preparation (addition or removal)
  • Removing a course from the general education list (foundational or discipline studies). Chairs need to submit this change in CourseLeaf.
  • Required materials 
  • Requisite (removal only)
  • Course Title Change 

Minor program revisions:

  • Advising notes
  • Editing recommended courses in statewide transfer degrees. Ex: adding MTH 231 as a recommended elective under the Mathematics AAOT. 
  • Enrollment notes
  • Entrance requirements
  • Program description 
  • Removing a course from a list of courses in any program. Ex: Removing COMM 111 from a list of courses (COMM 111, COMM 114, COMM 218 or COMM 219).
  • Sample plan 
  • Specialized accreditation

*Notes:

Proposals falling short of curriculum standards or that are incomplete by the submission date may be returned for submission for the following academic year.

Proposals requesting exceptions to these dates/timelines must be approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs for Curriculum Committee consideration outside of the dates provided above.

Catalog editing opens in CourseLeaf Catalog (CAT) 

March 20, 2024

Editors deadline to start workflow on all assigned catalog pages (each page must complete workflow to display in the catalog)

April 3, 2024

Approvers deadline to complete approval

May 9, 2024 

Publish the 2024-2025 online catalog
