Career and Educational Possibilities in Economics

Students who take an Economics class or pursue a degree in Economics learn skills that can be applied to a wide variety of career paths and educational goals. Examples include critical thinking, data collection and analysis, research, attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.  
 
Economics students at COCC work closely with their advisor to develop transfer plans based on their degree and career goals. Students who complete their Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree at COCC and then complete a bachelor's degree in economics are prepared to launch careers in a wide variety of fields. Graduates with bachelor’s degrees are qualified for a number of careers in government, finance, business, nonprofits, health care, education, and more.
