Q. What does each box on the organization chart represent?
A. Each box, except for the Board of Directors and the pooled positions, represents
a single budgeted position. The Adjunct Faculty, Part-time (PT) Instructor, and PT
ABS Instructor boxes represent pooled positions, or positions assigned to multiple
employees, therefore representing the group of employees in that category.
Q. How are positions listed on the organization chart within each department?
A. Positions under each department and supervisor are listed by the Banner position
number in sequential order. They are not listed in a specific hierarchy structure.
Q. What does FTE mean?
A. FTE means Full-Time Equivalent. For full-time positions assigned 40 hours per week,
the FTE is 1.0. For positions assigned less than 40 hours per week, the FTE is prorated
accordingly, for example an employee assigned 30 hours per week is 0.75.
Q. Why do some boxes have an FTE of zero?
A. When a position is vacant, the FTE will show as zero, and will not be included
in the total FTE rolled up to the supervisor.
Q. What does EFTE mean?
A. Under Adjunct Faculty, PT Instructor, and PT ABS Instructor, EFTE means Estimated
Full-Time Equivalent. The pooled position FTE is a calculated value based on an estimated
load factor.
Q. What does the center number represent in the Adjunct, PT Faculty, and ABS boxes?
A. This number represents a count of the number of employees (bodies) for that pooled
position employee group.
Q. How often is the information refreshed on the organization chart?
A. An automated script runs nightly to refresh the information extracted from the
Banner ERP system.
Q. Where are titles coming from?
A. The title on the organization chart is identified from the primary job record field
in Banner, representing working titles. For vacant positions, the title is identified
from the position title field in Banner.
Q. Are all employees at COCC represented on this org chart?
A. All employees except for variable wage and work study employees are represented.
Q. What do the + signs represent?
A. The + sign indicates the position has other positions that directly report to it.
When you click the + sign the chart expands to show positions that report to that
position. Note: If a + sign for a different position at the same or higher level is
clicked, the previous section will close.
Q. What if there are two names listed in one box?
A. Occasionally, two employees may be assigned to the same position number in Banner,
therefore both names are listed in the organization chart box. For example, when the
incumbent employee is in transition with an incoming employee.
