The Small Business Development Center at COCC offers confidential, one-on-one, complimentary, professional business advising service to small business entrepreneurs throughout Central Oregon. The SBDC advising staff can assist you to start new businesses, expand your market, navigate impact of COVID-19, and plan for resiliency. We are here for all stages of your business's life cycle.

Belinda specializes in finding financing solutions for business owners. She had a long career in banking providing a myriad of financing for small to medium size business. Her work experience includes accountant, credit analyst, underwriter, and commercial lender.
Small Business Management Program Manager
Jim has over 20 years of experience working with businesses. His background in management and human resources along with a MBA from Portland State University makes him uniquely suited to support the variety of challenges of small business ownership. Jim’s experience in managing the financial, accounting, and day-to-day business operations of a small business have given him solid insight into practical solutions for success.

Maureen has a strong background in banking and enjoys exploring funding options with clients looking for capital. She has also worked in the real estate business as well as owning a wholesale &amp; retail bakery. Having started and run her own successful business, from concept to reality, she is amply qualified to advise other potential entrepreneurs. A long-time Central Oregon resident, Maureen has a handle on the region's resources.

José has owned restaurants for more than 20 years and often works with clients who want to start food-related businesses. He also serves as the SBDC's Veteran liaison, drawing from his own experience in the U.S. Army. José has always had a passion for computer programming, and as a bilingual adviser, he is well positioned to help both our English- and Spanish-speaking clients with the particular challenges that can arise with technology.

|Sue is a professional consultant specializing in business start-up, strategies and planning. Her first firm was built in 1994 when finances and opportunities for entrepreneurs were varied and abundant. She and her husband, Steve, have two successful local businesses and continue to help businesses grow in today's challenging economic and customer-driven environment. After 30 years in the Phoenix metro area and traveling nationwide, Sue and Steve are proud to call Central Oregon home.|

Ken Betschart is the former Director of Operations at Genentech’s Hillsboro Technical Operations facility where he oversaw Supply Chain, Operational Excellence, and Learning Organizations. Previously, Ken was the Head of Finance for Roche Pharmaceuticals six global drug substance manufacturing operations. An outdoor enthusiast, he now lives in Bend with his wife and their yellow labrador, Teton.
