  • Steps for applying to the Second Year of the COCC Nursing Program as an Advanced Placement (LPN to RN) Student:

    Steps for applying to the Second Year of the COCC Nursing Program as a Transfer Placement Student:

    1. Apply to COCC by going to: Getting Started and completing steps 1 and 2. Deadline for transcripts submission is February 1st*.

    • Submit an official copy of all of your prerequisite and Nursing coursework transcripts.
    • Mail to:

    2. After your transcripts have been submitted, call 541-383-7200 to schedule an appointment with the Pre-Nursing Advisor - deadline March 1st*.

    3. Meet with the Nursing Program Team II Coordinator - deadline March 15th*. You will be given the contact information at your advising appointment (step 2).

    • Please bring the following completed documentation to your meeting with the Team II Coordinator:
      • Nursing Program Advance Placement Application - page 15 of the Nursing Program Readmission, Advanced Placement and Transfer Student Policies packet.
      • Verification of Employment - page 14 of packet - 400 hours of direct patient care in an acute or long-term (skilled) setting, or 600 hours of direct patient care in other nursing sttings such as clinics, home health, or assisted living as an LPN withing the last two years.
      • Current State of Oregon LPN license number. Your license must be active and unencumbered. License will be verified through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
    • The Coordinator will schedule you for:
      • HESI-PN exam - must pass at = 850 points - deadline May 31st*.
      • Comprehensive skills assessment test - deadline May 31st*.

    Note: *Students must meet these deadlines to be guaranteed consideration for admittance to the Fall Second Year Nursing Cohort. Transcripts will be accepted and advising may be completed after those dates, but the students will be placed at the back of the consideration list. Testing will not be conducted after May 31st.
