Equivalencies

Definition

Course A and Course B are considered equivalent if the course content is similar enough that both courses are considered the same for the purposes of:

  • Degree requirements
  • Transfer equivalencies
  • Repeat grade policy

Courses are noted as equivalent in the Banner set-up process. You can view equivalencies on the Banner Course Catalog Setup report (request a copy from the Curriculum office).

Equivalencies must be identified at the point of a new course approval or a course revision.
