Certified Nursing Assistant Level 2 - Registration Open for February/March 2017 Class  
CNA2 is an 88-hour noncredit course that includes lecture, skills lab and clinical practicum, meeting the 2015 OSBN revised requirements. You must hold a current unencumbered Oregon CNA1 license to register and meet all prerequisites by the registration deadline to take this course. Registration/refund deadline 2/8.

NEW! Medical Scribes: A Stepping Stone Into Your Health Career 
Statistics show that a large percentage of health career program applicants with experience as a Medical Scribe are accepted into programs of study. Gain fundamental insight into the "behind the scenes" world of healthcare, as well as the important role a Medical Scribe plays. This introductory course for students, recent graduates and those considering career transitions will explore the role of Medical Scribes in the health care system. Four online sessions cover the roles and responsibilities of different members of the health care team, understanding medical chart documentation, important medical vocabulary and disease processes, and effective communication techniques with physicians.  The final session on 2/6 is a classroom session held on the COCC Bend campus (BEC 154), facilitated by medical professionals (including Scribes) who will share their personal stories, experiences, and journeys working in health careers.

EMT Refresher

Kinesio Taping Method 1 & 2
This two-day course introduces health care practitioners to the Kinesio Taping Method. Designed for health care professionals in an advanced health care setting including physical therapists, athletic trainers and licensed health professionals with significant knowledge in anatomy and physiology. KT1 will include the theory and practical application of the Kinesio Taping Method. KT2 will cover the Six Corrective Concepts and include demonstration and practice of clinical applications.  CEUs included; 16 contact hours. Registration/refund deadline 3/8. Spanish Health Care Interpreter Training  - Now Accepting Applications for February 2017 Course
The Spanish Health Care Interpreter training prepares bilingual individuals to serve as Health Care Interpreters in medical settings and meets the Oregon Health Care interpreter law standards for entry-level training and education. This course is taught in Spanish and English, so proof of fluency in both languages is required with your application (allow at least one month if a third-party language test is required). Application deadline is January 20, 2017. Go to the Spanish Health Care Interpreter webpage for information and application. 

Orthodontic Assistant Training Coming to COCC
Orthodontic Assistants are an important part of the team that provides orthodontic care. COCC is in the planning stages for Orthodontic Assistant training to help candidates prepare for the Certified Orthodontic Assistant (COA) exam and the Oregon Expanded Functions Orthodontic Assisting exam (ORXO). This course will include online study, classroom skills labs to build clinical skills, and optional clinical practicum for those who don’t already work in an orthodontic setting.
