Strategic Energy Management
COCC has participated in the Energy Trust of Oregon’s Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program monitoring 3 buildings since 2019. In 2020 the college saved almost 40,000 kWh and 2,000 therms in the Culinary Institute, Redmond Technology Education Center and Wikiup Residence Hall. In 2021, Cascades Hall was added to the portfolio.
Since 2006 the College made the decision to charge $.25/credit green fee in order to become a participating institution in the Pacific Power Blue Sky program supporting renewable energy sources.
Campus Services Projects
In 2020 Campus Services installed 6,630 LED interior lights on the Bend and Redmond campuses. Additionally, 217 LED parking/walkway lights were installed on the Bend and Prineville campuses.
