COCC Writing Center

The Writing Center provides free Reading, Writing, and Study Skills Tutoring for all currently enrolled COCC students for the courses that they are currently taking at COCC.

Writing Center tutors can help with things like:

  • Understanding Your College Reading Assignments
  • Effective Study Techniques
  • Understanding Your Writing Assignments
  • Generating Ideas
  • Creating a Rough Draft
  • Revising and Editing
  • Formatting and Documentation

Using the Writing Center is FREE for all COCC students, and you never need to make an appointment! To talk with a writing tutor, go to one of our in-person locations or click our Zoom link in Canvas whenever we are open.

While our Writing Tutors is primarily available for assignments for COCC classes, we can also help with program applications, scholarship essays, or other projects not assigned for a COCC class. Please note that we must prioritize students seeking help for COCC course assignments. We are also happy to walk you through additional resources for writing or editing help for applications or scholarships. For example, OWL Purdue Online offers some great writing tips.
