First Time College Student

You are a First Time College Student if you will be a High School/ GED graduate, or are an adult with no prior college experience. 
Getting started at COCC is easy and we're here to help you succeed! Just follow these steps and you'll be on the path to a great education.

1   Apply for Admissions

 Complete a COCC application and pay the $25 non-refundable application fee.

2   Activate your Account

Set up your COCC account by resetting your password.

3   Explore How to Pay for College

 Every student needs a plan to pay for college. Learn about tuition and fees, scholarships, and other payment options. Financial help is available, but you have to start early.

4   Provide Placement Information

After you are admitted and have your student ID number, then you are ready to take your placement tests. Give yourself time to review and prepare, which could save you time and money. 
Have college credits or AP, IB, or CLEP test scores?

5   Attend New Student Advising & Register for Classes
Once you have made a Placement Test reservation, sign up for your New Student Advising appointment. Here you will meet with an advisor and register for classes.
6   Attend Bobcat Orientation
 Start your classes with confidence. Get everything you need before the first day of class.
