History

The study of history exposes you to the legacy of the past through exploration of historical events and social changes. Historical investigation of ordinary, as well as famous, people and the attainments of various cultures will enhance your grasp of the human experience. Courses cover western civilization; world, U. S., women's, and Pacific Northwest history; and history or the American West, Civil War, and others.

History provides an excellent background for a broad range of careers in teaching, business, journalism, international affairs, foreign service, government, library and archival work, and the ministry. In addition, a history degree is good preparation for a variety of graduate programs, including law school.
