COCC Program Manager Named a National “40 Under 40” Small Business Development Trailblazer
Sept. 11, 2023
Congratulations to Central Oregon Community College’s (COCC) Kathryn Brown, a program
manager in the college’s Center for Business, Industry, & Professional Development,
who was named a “40 under 40 Trailblazer” by America’s Small Business Development
Center Network.
Brown was one of just two Oregonians to receive the recognition which spotlights the
extraordinary contributions of individuals under 40 in the Small Business Development
Center (SBDC) Network who have significantly impacted their local networks and the
broader business landscape.
Brown leads COCC’s early child care business accelerator programs, in partnership with NeighborImpact, to provide grant funding and business support for both home-based and commercial
child care centers.
“It is with great pleasure and admiration that we recognize these exceptional young
professionals and their remarkable potential and passion for serving the SBDC network
and their clients,” said Charles “Tee” Rowe, America’s SBDC president and CEO. “Their
dedication, hard work and innovative mindset inspire not only their peers but also
aspiring young professionals across the nation.”
Brown was recognized at America’s SBDC annual conference held in Nashville earlier
this month.
