Abstract work to fill Pence Gallery
An exhibit of abstract paintings by Mike Hascall, titled “A Year of Exploration,”
is showing at COCC's Pence Pinckney Gallery from March 5-27, with an opening reception
from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.,
Monday to Friday.
The Seattle-area artist is a highly regarded painter who helped found Artech Fine
Art Services, a Washington-based company that began in 1977 and employs artists to
ship and install art for galleries and collectors.
The works in the exhibit date from February 2019. “I see anxious landscape, puzzles,
and obscured vision, but also humor and the deep energy in the natural world,” Hascall
said in an artist’s statement. Hascall received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Yale
University.
