Art Exhibit Pods-Nurtured Regeneration
Thursday, 1/11/2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 1/31/2018 at 5 p.m.
Bend artist Lynn Rothan, who has described her work as following the "rhythms of nature’s
impulses," is showing a gourd- and seedpod-inspired exhibit, "Pods-Nurtured Regeneration,"
at the Pence Pinckney Gallery January 11-31, with an opening reception and artist
talk from 4:30-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11.
The artist is a painter, printmaker, ceramicist and sculptor who received her training at the Columbus College of Art & Design. Her show is a retrospective—25 years in the making—that includes paintings and prints from private and personal collections, and features her latest focus: seedpod art and eight-foot-tall gourd sculptures. Rothan’s inspiration, she explained, comes from nature's never-ending return to seed shapes. “Each seedpod holds within it hope, fertility, the promise of regeneration,” she said.
The Pence Pinckney Gallery is open Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the last Saturday of the month, noon to 5 p.m. For more information on this show, contact Bill Hoppe at firstname.lastname@example.org or 541-383-7514.
