ASCOCC ELECTIONS

Every year during Spring term, ASCOCC runs elections for our Executive Council positions: Student Body President, Director of Student Affairs, and Director of Legislative Affairs. Electronic ballots are made available through Blackboard to any currently enrolled COCC students.

2018-19 ELECTION TIMELINE 

April 1st Candidate applications are available online (link posted HERE).
April 19th Candidate applications are due by 4:00pm (PCT).
April 22nd- May 9th Candidates may campaign on campus to raise awareness about ASCOCC elections, issues on campus, individual platforms, and to generate votes from peers.
May 1st Candidate Forum (Wille Hall, 11:30am- 12:30pm).
May 14th- 17th Online ballots are available on Blackboard starting from March 14th at 12:00am through March 17th at 11:59pm. Anyone who is currently enrolled for Spring '19 can vote through their Blackboard account.
June 10th Election results will be posted online! (Candidates will be directly notified).
July 1st First acting day in office for 2019-2020 Elected ASCOCC Council.

STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT

Hours: 15 hrs/week 
Pay: $11/hr

DIRECTOR OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

Hours: 12 hrs/week
Pay: $11/hr
Term: July 1st, 2019- June 30th, 2020
Position Description:

"To work with students to develop, manage, and support student clubs and organizations. The application of this means providing resources, support, and appropriate funding from the ASCOCC Student Programs budget (STGPRM) to active student clubs and organizations on campus. This position must also maintain student engagement through event programming, new club development, and helping the elected council in appointing students onto college committees."

DIRECTOR OF LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS

Hours: 12 hrs/week 
Pay: $11/hr 
Term: July 1st, 2019- June 30th, 2020
Position Description:

"To serve as the legislative connection between ASCOCC/COCC students, and student associations, as well as local, state, and national legislators. Coordinates and oversees voter registration drives on campus, and recruits students for state lobbying efforts."
