"Open Play" opportunities are for COCC students, faculty, and staff to work on their skills in a low-commitment, low-stress environment year-round. Come and use the facility to practice on your own or play pick-up sports with friends. Also, take advantage of partnerships we have with local facilities off-campus.
"Pickup" Basketball (Fall, Winter, Spring)
Mazama Gymnasium is available for "Pickup" basketball, or just to shoot around.
Open Play Tennis (Fall, Spring)
Tennis rackets and balls are available for students to borrow (with student ID) in the Mazama Gymnasium Equipment Room, next to Fitness Center. Students, staff, and faculty can play any time during Mazama hours.
Open Play Spikeball (Fall, Spring)
Spikeball sets are available for students to borrow (with student ID) in the Mazama Gymnasium Equipment Room, next to Fitness Center. Students, staff, and faculty can play any time during Mazama hours.
Open Play Table Tennis (Fall, Winter, Spring)
Table tennis tables, paddles and balls are available to borrow (with student ID) in the Mazama Gymnasium Equipment Room, next to Fitness Center. Students, staff, and faculty can play any time during Mazama hours year-round.
Bowling Passes - Lava Lanes Bowling Alley
FREE bowling passes to Lava Lanes are available for COCC students in the Sports and Recreation office (Mazama 111) and the Fitness Center. These passes are limited and are good for 1 free game of bowling and shoe rental. Students must show a current Student ID card to receive a pass. No groups over 6 people can use their passes together.
Swim Passes - 10 Visits to Juniper Swim and Fitness and Larkspur Centers
FREE swim passes are available for for currently enrolled COCC students through Bend Parks and Rec, and provide access to the Juniper Swim and Fitness Center and Larkspur Community Center. Please email rseaton3@cocc.edu and jmotenko@cocc.edu with your student ID number and a picture of your current class schedule to get on the list. These passes are limited, are good for 10 free visits to any BPRD facility, and must be renewed each term.
Ice Skating Passes - 10 Visits to The Pavilion Skate Rink
FREE ice skating passes are available for for currently enrolled COCC students through Bend Parks and Rec, and provide access to the Pavilion (not including skate rentals). Please email rseaton3@cocc.edu and jmotenko@cocc.edu with your student ID number and a picture of your current class schedule to get on the list. These passes are limited, are good for 10 free visits to any BPRD facility, and must be renewed each term.
Madras Aquatic Center Memberships
FREE passes are available for currently enrolled COCC students and provide access to "drop-in" activities like lap swim, rec swim, hot tub, open gym, toddler time, indipendant workout and splash downs. Please email rseaton3@cocc.edu and jmotenko@cocc.edu with your student ID number and a picture of your current class schedule to get on the list. These passes are limited and must be renewed each term.
Fitness Center, Weight Rooms and Climbing Wall
Complete with new cardio equipment and strength machines, the Fitness Center, Weight Rooms and Climbing Wall are a great places to stay active. They are open during regular Mazama hours:
- Monday - Thursday 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
- Friday 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Sunday 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
*When Fitness Center classes are in session, please use the other weight rooms
