A Team Worth Staying For
COCC Rugby builds the kind of community that keeps students enrolled, engaged, and
proud
to be Bobcats — and our players say so themselves.
Since 2012, COCC Rugby has given students at COCC and OSU-Cascades a team to fight for, a schedule to build around, and a brotherhood that lasts well past graduation. Players earn their place here — on the pitch, in the weight room, and in the classroom — and cost never keeps a committed student from competing.

As a club sport, we're powered by a partnership: support from COCC Club Sports, player
dues, countless
volunteer hours — and people like you. Alumni, families, and friends of the program
are the difference between
getting by and building something that lasts.

Why It Matters to the College
Community colleges fight hardest for one thing: keeping students enrolled term to term. Our players tell us — in their own words, season after season — that rugby is part of why they persist. They build friendships, structure their weeks around practice, hold each other accountable for schoolwork, and take pride in wearing a COCC crest. A gift to rugby is a gift to student retention, belonging and the kind of college experience that turns students into graduates.
What Your Gift Funds
Every dollar goes to the program through the COCC Foundation. Here's what it actually buys:
| $50 Outfits a player with a mouth guard and rugby shorts |
| $100 Sends a player on an overnight away match — or provides his team apparel (hoodie, training shirt, sweats) and kit bag |
| $150 Covers a player's annual dues — or post-match pizza for the whole squad |
| $250 Stocks the season's training supplies |
| $500 Buys essential practice equipment — or hosts the end-of-season banquet |
| $1,000 Sponsors a team road trip to conference opponents across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho |
| $1,500 Puts a COCC Rugby hoodie on every player on the roster |
| $2,500 Season sponsor: club registration, referee fees, trainer fees, and medical
supplies for the year |
Gifts of any amount matter. Recurring monthly gifts matter most — they let us plan
a season instead of surviving
one.
More Ways to Support the Team
| Attend a match. Home games are free at Mazama Athletic Field — the sideline is the best recruiting tool we have. Come to the Cascade Classic on August 29. |
| Mentoring and job placement. Help our players find good, flexible, part-time work in Central Oregon. A player with steady work is a student who stays enrolled — if your business hires, we'd love to talk. |
| Sponsor as a business. Match-day and kit sponsorships available |
| Donate gear or services. Physical therapy, team meals, Costco Shop Cards, equipment
— in-kind support goes further than you'd think. |
A Note From the Coach
COCC Rugby was founded in 2012 on a simple idea: students in Central Oregon deserve
a team worth
showing up for. Every season since, I've watched this program shape young men — on
the rugby field, in the
classroom, and long after graduation. When you give, you're not just funding a sports
team. You're funding the
reason many of these student-athletes stay in school and finish their degree.
Thank you for being part of it.
