What is/Where is my device MAC Address?

It seems like someone else registered my device. What should I do?

Please open a student support ticket that includes your name, cocc username, and the MAC address of the device you cannot register.

Can I bring my own router/WIFI access point?

Use of personal access points, routers, switches, etc is prohibited and will not work on the Wickiup Hall Network. 

If you have already tried using your own equipment and have found your port to be unresponsive, then please open a student support ticket that includes your name, room number, and wall jack number.



Why doesn't my wall jack give me internet, but another jack does?

If your device cannot gain internet access through a wall jack, try disconnecting and reconnecting then wait for 1 minute. If after a minute there is still nothing please open a student support ticket that includes your name, room number, and wall jack number.

I just moved rooms, what do I need to do?

Nothing. PacketFence should automatically grant access to your device as long as it has been registered, no matter where it is in the dorm.

If your device is registered and is having issues after a move, please open a student support ticket with your name, username, room number, device MAC address, and wall jack number if you are connecting through a wire.



My gaming device has internet, but I cannot play some online games.

If you can verify internet connectivity, but are unable to play multiplayer games, you may be having a NAT mismatch issue. In this case please open a student support ticket with your name, username, room number, device MAC address, and wall jack number if you are connecting through a wire.

Some common culprits of this are: Smash Bros, Mario Cart, and FPS games.
