Parking and Traffic Enforcement
Officers are statutorily authorized to also perform traffic and parking enforcement as stated by
ORS 341.300. Officers' authority covers the geographical boundaries of COCC's properties (including land, structures, parking lots, and COCC roadways). Officers may legally obtain driver identification, vehicle identification and verification of insurance
Towing and Abandoned Vehicles
Campus Public Safety is authorized by Oregon Revised Statute 98.810 to have vehicles removed at the expense of the owner. It is the responsibility of the operator of a vehicle to notify Campus Public Safety if they will be leaving their vehicle overnight on any of the COCC Campuses.

Mountain Bike Patrol
Campus Public Safety Officers utilize mountain bikes during the warmer months to patrol both the Bend and Redmond campuses.
Campus Public Safety Officers are certified in Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association. Every patrol vehicle contains a basic First Aid Kit as well as an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Crisis Intervention Team
Campus Public Safety Officers have gone through extensive training in Crisis Intervention. This training is in conjunction with the Bend Police Department and Deschutes County Behavioral Health's Mobile Crisis Intervention Team (MCAT). If you are experiencing crisis or are having suicidal thoughts,

Our Cadet Program is a co-op work experience for Criminal Justice students seeking a career in law enforcement, corrections, dispatch or parole and probation. The program provides valuable skills and experience that they can take with them. This program also allows them to complete their CJ280 class requirement. Campus Public Safety provides Safety Escorts to and from an individuals vehicle when they are concerned for their safety. To request a Safety Escort please contact Campus Public Safety 24/7 at 541-383-7272.
Campus Public Safety patrol vehicles are equipped with a Battery Jump Start Boxes in order to assist individuals parked on campus who find themselves in need of a battery jump.
Lost and Found Property
If you have lost or located property, contact Campus Public Safety at 541-383-7272 24/7. We will attempt to locate your lost item or find the owner of the located property.
Additionally the Info Desk for Student Life located in the Coats Campus Center (on the second floor) also collects found property and maintains a list of lost items, they can be contacted at 541-383-7590. All items are held for 90 days before being donated to charity.
