Crime Prevention

Campus Public Safety believes it is better to prevent crimes than to react after the fact. A primary tool for accomplishing this goal is the department's comprehensive crime prevention strategy. This strategy is Crime Prevention - Lock it or lose itbased on a multi-layered approach that includes proactive patrol of the campus, crime prevention education, risk assessment, and frequent public contact. The Crime Prevention Officer is available to assist any individual and/or group in planning, presenting, and coordinating programs of interest or concern. RAD LogoRape Aggression Defense (RAD)

Campus Public Safety has Officers certified to teach Rape Aggression Defense courses. The course includes lecture, discussion and self-defense techniques suitable for women of all ages and abilities. Run Hide Fight Training 

Campus Public Safety offers, on a continuous basis throughout the year and as requested by individual college departments, Run Hide Fight Training. The course prepares individuals for incidents involving an active assailant. Run Hide Fight Training provides the information you need to help you survive an active assailant. Safe Zone

Safe Zones are confidential and safe environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) individuals. The Safe Zone symbol displayed around the campus identifies individuals who are compassionate, understanding, and committed to helping create an open and accepting environment for all on the COCC and OSU-Cascades campuses.Safe Zone Logo - sm

Several individuals from Campus Public Safety have attended the COCC Multicultural Safe Zone Training and are available to speak with individuals who need someone to speak with.
