Opening doors to understanding human behaviors, the Psychology program at COCC provides in-depth studies that explore both the mind and the brain, their processes, and influences. Through interactive learning, a collaborative culture, and an emphasis on student research opportunities, our Psychology program offers expert, supportive instruction. Explore the variety of fields in psychology — including developmental, biological, and social — and investigate brain research, social influence, human development, therapy methods, animal behavior, and other focuses. Opportunities for conferences, presentations, and guest lectures combine with the Central Oregon Psychology Enthusiasts club and even international field work to take learning further. COCC Psychology coursework sets a strong foundation for continued studies in a psychology specialty or provides essential knowledge for diverse careers that include human services/addiction studies, public health, education, business, physical therapy, and medicine.

Program-Specific Information

Psychology is a broad discipline that considers properties of the brain and seeks to understand humans as individuals and in groups. The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) with a focus in Psychology includes courses that are commonly required for this major and meets lower-division general education requirements at all Oregon public universities.
