Is the Library open and how has it changed?
During Winter and Spring term, the main areas of the COCC Barber Library building will remain closed, but there will be walk-in access through the front doors to the circulation desk for item pickup and checkout. (Note: the Library will also offer curbside service to patrons who do not wish to enter the building. For assistance, please call 541-383-7560.)
In addition, many library services are available remotely. Please visit the COCC Barber Library website for pickup service hours as well as access to all available library services.
Still have questions? Please contact email@example.com.
Are computer labs open?
Yes, COCC has drop-in computer labs open on all four COCC Campuses: Bend - Pioneer Hall, Redmond - Building 3, Room 324, Madras 120, and Prineville 114. Please see the COCC Computer Lab website for the most up-to-date hours.
The College is taking a variety of steps to ensure your safety when using a computer lab, including enhanced cleaning protocols, maintaining 6 feet between computer workstations, and requiring face masks. Complete details regarding computer lab health precautions are available online.
Is it required that I wear a face mask in a COCC computer lab?
Yes, it is required. Please view COCC's face masks policy here. The computer labs will have disposable face masks for students who may need one.
Do the drop-in computer labs still loan out peripheral devices like headsets or headphones?
No, student must bring their own devices.
What materials and supplies are provided in the computer labs to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus?
Hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes, and disposable masks are provided by COCC. Additionally, the attendant desks have clear plastic barriers installed.
How often are things cleaned in the drop-in computer labs?
Computer stations, including monitor, keyboard, keyboard tray, mouse, and chair are cleaned between each use. GoPrint printing stations, including card reader, card dispenser, touchscreen display, and printer are all cleaned between each use. "Touch spots" such as chairs, doorframes, doorknobs, staplers, hole-punches, and similar items are cleaned throughout the day.
The Testing Center is following COCC guidelines by requiring masks, encouraging hand hygiene, disinfecting socially distanced testing stations, establishing foot traffic patterns, and assuring fresh air circulates through the testing room to address aerosols.
COCC Testing Center is operating from a central location on our Redmond campus. We are conducting Certiport and PearsonVUE certification exams, including GED exams. Additionally, we are testing for the state of Oregon’s Building Codes Division. If you have accommodations, COCC Testing is coordinating services via online platforms and working closely with COCC’s Disability Services office. For more information, visit the Redmond testing website.
All COCC tutoring will be offered via online formats in Winter and Spring terms. We will not be offering any face-to-face tutoring at this time. All tutoring staff are now working remotely. Online tutoring is free for COCC students in courses currently offered.
Students can access tutoring in one of two online formats:
- COCC tutors are available during scheduled hours via Zoom. Students: log into your
Blackboard account and click on the "COCC Tutoring" tab. Schedules for COCC Tutors
can be located in Blackboard and on the COCC Tutoring website.
- Online tutoring is also offered through our Western eTutoring Consortium, with current information available here: Online Tutoring.
For the 2021 Winter and Spring terms, students can visit the Disability Services webpage to learn how to apply for or request academic accommodations. After viewing the material in the "Prepare for an Appointment" section, first-time students should use the "Apply now" section to complete an application and submit their documentation. Once received, you will be contacted to schedule your remote appointment.
Returning students will log in to their accounts from the Disability Services webpage and electronically submit accommodation requests. There are pdf and video visual tutorials available on the webpage for additional details.
If students have questions regarding accommodations available per OHA guidance for COCC's face masks requirement, please contact Disability Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 541.383.7583.
