The Rotunda Gallery encompasses the main lobby of the Barber Library opening up to the second floor. Large or small exhibits can be accommodated with three floors of available exhibit space and two glass display cases. All hanging exhibits have available the Arakawa's cable-based hanging system for easy installations. Exhibits are located in high traffic and secured areas in the Rotunda to reduce the likelihood of damage or theft of materials; however, the library takes no responsibility for the security or welfare of exhibits at any time, including during transport, installation, or dismantling. Exhibits will be placed with consideration for public safety and disability access.
Rotating exhibits must have a specific start and end date, and generally on display for two months or as long as one academic quarter. The library promotes each exhibit with an informative web page and an event listing on the COCC website. Artists are encouraged to provide an artist statement to the gallery. All sales
inquiries are directed to the artist and the library does not collect a commission.
The art committee encourages exhibit proposals that have intellectual and aesthetic appeal to students, faculty and community members. We envision art as a catalyst for learning across the curriculum of the college. Submit your request for an application by contacting Mary Beth Hamilton by email.
