COCC scholar series unravels the "Science of Happiness"

In a time of COVID-created stress and strain across the globe, a little happiness can go a long way. The Central Oregon Community College (COCC) Foundation’s Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Program is pleased to announce its next spring event, titled “The Science of Happiness,” being held virtually at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25. Presenter Catherine Sanderson, Ph.D., is a professor and chair of psychology at Amherst College who was featured in the Princeton Review’s “The Best 300 Professors” publication. She will discuss new research in the field of psychological well-being, including the impacts of the pandemic on happiness.

Sanderson has received research support from the National Science Foundation and the National Institute of Health and is the author of several works on psychological health.

Since 1985, the Nancy R. Chandler Visiting Scholar Program of the COCC Foundation has brought renowned scholars, lecturers and experts to the region. This event is sponsored by the Maybelle Clark Macdonald Fund, the Associated Students of COCC and Marjorie Meret-Carmen.
