"Panopticon" Photo Exhibit Merges Topography, Data

Saturday, 3/3/2018 from 8 a.m. to 4/20/2018 at 5 p.m.

Barber Library, Rotunda Gallery

The Barber Library gallery at COCC's Bend campus is exhibiting Kiel Fletcher’s “Panopticon,” a collection of landscape photos generated by using data-shaped topography, March 3 through April 20. The artist will talk about his work at noon on Thursday, March 15.

Fletcher, a Bend-based interactive media and video artist, described Panopticon as raw data sent through various software programs to create landscape images. The show, he explained, consists of a series of images derived from a single graphical analysis of heart rate, power, location and time.

Fletcher’s work has shown at the Tate Britain museum, the Disjecta Contemporary Art Center, and is included in the Yale University library collection. An instructor at OSU-Cascades, the artist is a founding member of the interdisciplinary artist collective, Danger Punch. He received a Master of Fine Arts from the Pacific Northwest College of Art and a bachelor’s degree in sculpture and digital media from the University of Colorado.
