Melissa Merryman

Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life

Melissa started working at COCC in July 2017 as Wickiup Hall's Residence Life Coordinator and was promoted in May 2019. Prior to joining COCC, she worked at Rogue Community College as the faculty advisor for the Associated Student Government and project coordinator for state grants. Melissa earned a Masters in education online through Portland State University in 2019. She graduated from Southern Oregon University with a bachelors degree in anthropology, a certificate in cultural anthropology, and minors in human communication and international studies. Melissa enjoys traveling as well as exploring Bend.

The Assistant Director is responsible for much of the operational management of on-campus housing.


David Wolfe

Residence Life Coordinator

David joined the COCC Housing and Residence Life Department in August 2019.  Before arriving in Bend, he worked as the Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life at Francis Marion University.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from The State University of New York at New Paltz in 2001 and earned a Masters in Humanistic/Multicultural Education in 2008.  David is passionate about philosophy, teaching, student leadership development and brings a contagious positive attitude to the college campus community. 

The Residence Life Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of the student staff, day-to-day interactions with students, and development of community programming.


Deena Cook

Student Housing Marketing & Summer Conference Coordinator

Deena has worked at COCC since September 2012 first as an instructional administrative assistant and now currently as the Marketing and Summer Conference Coordinator for Wickiup Hall. Deena holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from San Francisco State University and a Master's Degree in Leadership and Management from Western Governors University. Deena's passions include spending time with her family, hiking with her dogs, cooking and outdoor recreating in beautiful Bend, Oregon.

The Marketing and Summer Conferences Coordinator is responsible for the on-campus housing and summer conferences marketing plans as well as guest services and operational management of summer conferences.


Kate Donahue

Office Specialist

Kate joined the housing team in January 2017. After working at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL for over 20 years, Kate and her husband, Gary relocated to Bend in 2014. Kate brings energy, creative problem-solving, kindness and a sincere appreciation of students living and learning in a college environment. Kate also enjoys caring for her animals or digging in the dirt at her hobby farm, Midnight Sky Farm of Tumalo, outside of Bend.

The Office Specialist supports administrative facets of the Housing Office as well as resident services.
