Native American Summer Program
STRIVE - "Summer Training to Revive Indigenous Vision and Empowerment"
STRIVE is a residential summer leadership symposium program for Native American high school students on the Central Oregon Community College Campus in Bend.
The goal of STRIVE is to provide cultural and academic support and give young Native American students leadership skills.
We invite students to spend the week attending academic and cultural classes and take part in various activities and field trips all designed to encourage and give skills to our youth who have college as a dream.
Students take classes from college professors in a culturally relevant manner. They stay in the residence halls as we introduce them to college culture. Students meet with successful Native American college students and develop positive mentoring relationships. Students participate in various leadership activities to prepare them for the roles we hope they can fulfill in their communities.
STRIVE 2018 will be Thursday June 28 through Monday July 2
