Lloyd McMullen is a curious person.

The mixed media artist brings a lifelong passion for obscure facts, and a magpie’s love of shiny objects and rusting metal, to two and three-dimensional paintings/constructions.

The artist is drawn to the stories told by stolen images, misappropriated words, found objects and random detritus. These ‘historic’ materials freighted with their own story add to the archeological nature of paintings layered with images, words, unidentifiable objects and texture.

A community arts activist McMullen is an occasional yarn bomber and instigator of secret art installations.  Currently a member of ScaleHouse’s Programming Committee, McMullen has worked with local art groups that include Atelier 6000, artists’ co-op: 135 Up, Central Oregon Arts Association, the Regional Arts Council of Central Arts group: Artists Local 101.
