Meet Our Team of Experienced Business Advisers
Lisa specializes in helping small business owners access debt financing and assemble loan presentation packages. Lisa spent more than 30 years as a small business lender working for several different financial institutions. Her experience as a loan underwriter and commercial lender make her well qualified to assist businesses in locating and working with the best lending partner to suit their needs.
Small Business Management Program Manager
Jim has over 20 years of experience working with businesses. His background in management and human resources along with a MBA from Portland State University makes him uniquely suited to support the variety of challenges of small business ownership. Jim’s experience in managing the financial, accounting, and day-to-day business operations of a small business have given him solid insight into practical solutions for success.
Central Oregon with a focus on Bend & Sisters
Maureen has a strong background in banking and enjoys exploring funding options with clients looking for capital. She has also worked in the real estate business as well as owning a wholesale & retail bakery. Having started and run her own successful business, from concept to reality, she is amply qualified to advise other potential entrepreneurs. A long-time Central Oregon resident, Maureen has a handle on the region's resources.
Patti has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an MBA from Santa Clara University. She spent many years in the high tech world of Silicon Valley, and can discuss accounting, marketing and operations at any level. In addition to working with the SBDC over the years, Patti teaches classes for the COCC Business Department and has her own consulting business.
Pam has helped companies launch new products and entrepreneurs launch new companies for years. She has a science and engineering background, with a BS in Chemistry from Duke, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford and an MBA from Duke. Her focus has always been innovation; Pam served as a Technology Business Consultant for the State of Oregon and is a popular pitch coach at the Bend Venture Conference.
José has owned restaurants for more than 20 years and often works with clients who want to start food-related businesses. He also serves as the SBDC's Veteran liaison, drawing from his own experience in the U.S. Army. José has always had a passion for computer programming, and as a bilingual adviser, he is well positioned to help both our English- and Spanish-speaking clients with the particular challenges that can arise with technology.
Christy is a sales and product development executive with 20+ years of diverse experience in fast-paced business environments. She can help SCALE Oregon clients with brand positioning, client relationship management, strategic planning, and revenue growth strategies. Christy's experience spans global product development, business development, and other key settings.
Chad has spent his career working and consulting in organizational development and marketing & branding. Plus a strength in financial analysis comes from starting and operating a mortgage company for many years. Chad's additional experience in managing and marketing facility rentals, as well as his time teaching about social media and mobile device productivity, make him a great resource for anyone wanting to maximize their web presence.
Ken is the former Director of Operations at Genentech's Hillsboro Technical Operations facility where he oversaw Supply Chain, Operational Excellence, and Learning Organizations. Previously, Ken was the Head of Finance for Roche Pharmaceuticals six global drug substance manufacturing operations. Ken holds an MBA from the University of Portland, and a Masters Certificate in Supply Chain Management from Penn State University.
