Need help accessing your Continuing Education online course?

Online Course Terminology:

Online Live Classes - Meets online on a specific date and time. The classes are interactive and facilitated by a Continuing Education instructor. These classes may also be referred to as "remote."

Online Self-Paced Classes - Complete course material on your own schedule within a specific period of time.

Hybrid Classes - These classes will have some of the course material delivered at a specific time with an instructor in a classroom or online live plus additional online work to be completed on our own as assigned. 

Start by determining what type of online course you are taking. This information can be found on your Email Confirmation receipt or in the "Facility" section in our Online Registration System. Then use the appropriate link below.

ZOOM Class Information

For students in an Online Live class using Zoom - These classes meet on a specific date and time. A Continuing Education instructor teaches them with live classroom interaction.

Requirements for a successful online class experience via Zoom:

  • Verify correct email address on your account during registration. Class access information is by email only.
  • If you have not received an email 2 days prior to class, please check your junk, spam or promotions folders or contact ceinfo@cocc.edu.
  • A computer or laptop with current updated operating system.
  • A high-speed internet connection.
  • An up-to-date internet browser.
  • Integrated or USB-connected webcam, speakers OR a telephone.

New to Zoom?

Download Zoom free.  When entering your name, please use your actual name. You don’t have to enter your full name but we do need full first name and last initial.

Necessary Technical Skills

Students should be comfortable doing the following:

  • Search for information on websites using an internet browser such as Firefox, Chrome or Safari
  • Use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel to create documents
  • Manage files and folders: save, name, copy, move, rename, delete, download and upload
  • Navigate Blackboard and use tools such as discussion boards, assignments and tests - videos

Additional Blackboard Information

Converting Files

Assignments submitted in Blackboard should be in MS Office format (.doc, .ppt, .xls) or PDF unless specifically stated otherwise. Students without MS Office software should know how to convert their files if necessary.

Follow the instructions below to convert your file to COCC appropriate format. These instructions are for MS Word, but the process will be the same for other files as well.
