Attendance Requirement

To maintain enrollment in each class, you must attend the first class meeting and 100 percent of the first week's class and lab meetings. If you are in an online class you must complete the attendance requirement outlined in the syllabus. For classes that do not span the entire term you must attend the first class session.

Failing to attend a class
If you failed to attend one of the class meetings, you may be administratively withdrawn from that class by the instructor at the time class roll is taken. If this results in a tuition refund, the refund will be processed within three weeks. However, to guarantee withdrawal and avoid tuition charges you should submit an Add/Drop Registration Form to enrollment Services Office at any COCC campus by the appropriate deadline or call us at 541-383-7500.

Planning on missing a class
If you are unable to attend a session within the first week due to extenuating circumstances, you must contact the instructor by phone or email prior to the first class meeting if you wish to avoid being administrative withdrawal. See Directory for contact info. Allowing students to remain in the course is solely at the discretion of the instructor.

After being administratively withdrawn
If your instructor administratively withdraws you from class due to non-attendance, you will receive an email from Enrollment Services during the second week of the term. If you wish to re-register for the class, you must have permission, either through a signed Add/Drop Registration Form or electronic approval, from the instructor.

Student responsibilities
The Administrative Withdrawal policy does not relieve you from full responsibility for officially dropping a course within the given deadline to not incur tuition charges and to not receive a grade for the course.
