COMING UP IN OCTOBER: WRITER TO SPEAK ON THE FUTURE OF FRESH WATER Join environmental writer Emma Marris for an engaging talk on the global and local challenges faced when it comes to sharing that most precious
of commodities: fresh water. The presentation is at 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct.
10, at Wille Hall in the Coats Campus Center. Students can get a free ticket at the
Coats info desk with ID. Marris is a National Geographic Media Innovation Fellow.
This presentation complements the exhibit, "Water Tables," on display at the Bend
Art Center and in COCC's Barber Library, featuring works by Pat Clark, Oct. 5-Nov.
25; reception on Oct. 10 at 5:15 p.m.

The wildfire smoke is settling (fingers crossed), the temperatures are dropping and
Labor Day is fading fast into the rearview mirror: Fall term, here we come. Make sure
to sign up for the informative and helpful Bobcat Orientation to hit the ground running
on day one. Now, keep on scrollin' for the need-to-know!
BOBCAT ORIENTATION 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21 (lunch included). **Reservations for Orientation are required. Bobcat Orientation will give you a great start to your COCC experience. Enjoy a free lunch, enter drawings
for tuition credit, and learn about vital student success training before the term
starts. Lower your stress and build confidence by discovering what instructors expect
from you, where to get help and support and how to use your COCC student email. After
you register for classes, call a COCC campus to RSVP or reserve a spot through the
Bobcat Orientation page.

Sept. 21 - Bobcat Orientation
Sept. 24 - Classes begin
Oct. 5, 5 p.m. - Tuition due and end-of-refund period. Courses not spanning full term
will have different deadlines.
FINANCIAL AID The 2018-19 FAFSA/ORSAA is available for students who plan to attend COCC between July 1, 2018, and June
30, 2019. Students not eligible to complete the FAFSA may apply for the ORSAA. A completed
ORSAA is required for students who may be eligible for the Oregon Opportunity Grant,
Oregon Promise, OSAC scholarships and the COCC Foundation scholarship. Attend a FAFSA/ORSA workshop for help.
