HEY BOBCATS!
Launched last week, COCC's Fall Reopening Info Pages are here to help you prepare for the term. The comprehensive webpages look at how
the partial reopening will operate, answering your specific questions and concerns.
Learn more about how to get a mask, conduct a health self-check, meet with an advisor
and many other topics. If you don't find what you're looking for, you can always send
questions regarding COVID-19 and the College's reopening planning to COVID19info@cocc.edu. Keep on scrolling, and stay safe, 'cats.

FALL TERM REGISTRATION
Students continuing from Spring term We encourage you to register right away! Check to see if you have an advising or other
requirement in your Bobcat Web Account (go to Student Services, Registration and "Can I Register?"). If you have an advising
requirement, you should e-mail your advisor with information about your degree goal
and class selection. Faculty advisors, however, are not on contract during the summer
and many are inaccessible. In that case, contact the CAP Services at 541-383-7200
for advising.
New students who are enrolled Summer term Registration for Fall term is now open for students who are first-time students during
Summer term and wish to register for Fall term. Log in to your Bobcat Web Account to see if you have an advising or other requirement. If you have an advising requirement,
contact the CAP Services at 541-383-7200 for an appointment.
FINANCIAL AID
FAFSA/ORSAA If you're planning on attending COCC between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021, be sure
to complete your 2020-21 FAFSA and ORSAA early; early submissions have the best chance to receive the maximum aid.
Students not eligible to complete the FAFSA may apply for the ORSAA. A completed ORSAA is required for students who may be eligible for the Oregon Opportunity
Grant and Oregon Promise.
FALL TERM PRIORITY DEADLINE If you are attending Fall term, Financial Aid will give priority consideration to
those students completing and submitting their requirements by August 15.
VETERANS BENEFITS Utilizing Veterans education benefits? Please be sure to request certification for
your classes for Fall term. If you have any questions, contact vetsed@cocc.edu or call 541-383-7264.
VETERAN EDUCATIONAL BRIDGE GRANT The Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs has released a new grant titled the Veteran
Educational Bridge Grant. Under this program, eligible student veterans who are unable
to complete their degree program within the expected completion period, due to the
timing of course offerings, may be eligible for additional funding. See Educational Bridge Grant for more information.
ACADEMIC RESOURCES
HEALTH CAREERS CLOSE-UP: AUGUST 13 Take a peek at COCC's health care careers through a one-hour virtual info session.
Find out more about the dental assistant, massage therapist, medical assistant, vet
tech and pharmacy tech programs at an August 13 info session.
AROUND THE VIRTUAL CAMPUS
VIRTUAL JOB FAIR: AUGUST 20 Every other Thursday at 3 p.m., join Tracy Dula, COCC's Career Services Coordinator,
to get a jobs report via videoconference. Dula will share current information from
local employers and answer your job search questions in these live 30-minute sessions.
Contact tdula@cocc.edu no later than noon on the day of the session to receive a Zoom link.
STUDENT CONCERNS Students are encouraged to resolve the issue with the appropriate faculty or staff
member. For academic concerns, this should begin with the instructor. If the student
is not comfortable discussing directly with the instructor, the student may initiate
the concern with the appropriate department chair. If the instructor is the current
department chair, the student may initiate the concern with the appropriate instructional
dean. For non-academic concerns, the student should bring the issue to the director
of Student Life for assistance in identifying the appropriate contact. For assistance
in identifying the appropriate faculty or staff member, contact the Office of Student
Life, 541-383-7590.
PREFERRED FIRST NAMES COCC recognizes that many individuals prefer to use first names other than their legal
first name to identify themselves. In support of our commitment to creating and sustaining
a welcoming, safe and supportive environment, COCC provides students the option to
use a preferred name where possible. Please see our preferred name FAQ webpage for additional information.
LACTATION ROOMS COCC provides locations for students and employees to have access to a private space
for lactation purposes. Private, secure spaces are available in Boyle, the Barber
Library, Room 226, and in Grandview Hall, 2nd floor bathroom/shower. View lactation room hours and key information.
