Birding the Klamath Basin - Only 7 spots remaining! To register, call 541.383.7270 or Register Online Now.
Known for its large winter concentration of eagles, the Klamath Basin is home to staggering numbers of waterfowl. Owls and hawks are drawn here by the abundance of small mammals in the agricultural fields surrounding the region’s lakes and waterways. Ducks, geese and swans stopover on their northward journey. Several National Wildlife and State refuges provide safe havens for these birds as they prepare for migration. By van, we’ll visit several of the area refuges, as well as other hot birding spots in the Basin, and even take an optional tour after dinner to search for owls. Pack a small overnight bag and bring binoculars and cameras to witness and record these magnificent birds. Transportation, instruction, picnic lunch and guiding included. Overnight lodging at the Olympic Inn and meals not included. Classroom session on 2/2 for trip preparation. Trip dates 2/25 & 26. Approximate departure time 8:00am. Approximate return time 5:00pm. Dates, schedules, program details, trip leadership, and costs, although provided in good faith based on the information available at the time of publication of this document, are subject to change and revision.
