Assignment #2

Why is it important for children to write on a daily basis?
    When do they begin daily writing?
    How long should daily writings be?
    Are daily writings freewrites or structured?
    What is the goal of daily writing?
My tentative focusing question is:
    Why is daily writing, reading comprehension, and spelling important?
Other questions that will help me to explore my focus question are:
    At what age should children begin to write?
    Is spelling important?
    When and how do you teach vocabulary?
    How do you test reading comprehension to a student who can not
    read?
    Are there case studies available that show the long term results of
    these principles?

My tentative thesis is:
    Improved reading comprehension and vocabulary are important in    
    order for students to have confidence in their writing skills.
