Description:
The Making of Wr206 Term Project |
|
|
|
|
|
|
This term Paper has been
quite a bit of fun for me. I have used both my Eng316 and Wr206 courses to
publish my experience with eBay as well as research the history behind
eBay. Since eBay is entirely Internet based and is centered on computer
usage, I used the Internet for my media to the fullest extent. Creating my
website for this paper was extremely interesting and educational and at
times very frustrating but in the end was the most fun. A lot of detail went
into creating my site and is located on COCC’s server at:
http://www.cocc.edu/heidir/index.html.
I use eBay to create additional spending money for
myself and my three children by shopping the thrift stores and recycling
their clothing that they have grown out of. In my site I included photo
galleries of my toys, my children and the wildlife that thrives around our
house to give people a sense of who I am. I have a photo gallery of a few
items that I have sold on eBay and included the purchase price as well as
the price the item sold for. I find the marketing aspect of eBay, as well as
all Internet shopping, fascinating in that it allows access to items that
some people may never have been able to get a hold of due to handicaps,
rural living arrangements or just unavailability in their area for items
that they want to collect or need to have for everyday life.
Computers and technology have provided a gateway
for society today in terms of accessibility to services and information that
was not available prior to the Internet. I directed this project to be
computer based and Internet accessible since this course was based on the
usage of the Internet in order to learn the subject at hand. I would highly
recommend learning how to use a web-site program such as FrontPage to
publish anything you want since you never know who might bump into your site
and find what you have to say interesting.
I packaged my paper in the standard United States
Postal Services Priority packaging that I send all of my auction items out
in. I included my standard return address with my eBay e-mail address on it.
I used the standard auction format for this page to add a little sense of
humor to the project and place my paper in an “auction” format with Rob
Davis as the winning bidder.
